No fuel for government cars!

18:45 Dec 18 2011 Swaziland

Description
Government cars may soon be grounded as the Central Transport Administration (CTA) is running out of fuel.

This will affect essential services like the police, health sector, fire and emergency services.

CTA is a government garage currently in the process of being converted to a fully-fledged parastatal.

The Matsapha branch of CTA does not have petrol altogether. It can be said that the shortage of fuel has been caused by government’s cashflow challenges that have been affecting operations since the beginning of the year.

Thanks, Claire for writing this blog. It gives me a beettr understanding of the difficulties involved in building any program to help the helpless, needy, abused, all categories that orphans so often fit into. I think it is a good thing that such a meeting was held, because it's at least a beginning, and the Sister from Cabrini seems to have a very good model, which would work nationally if only the government had the means to do it, because it is village based. I do hope that people in govenment and NGOs read your blogs. You have presented so many and so accurate word pictures of the people, especially the children, who are most helpless of all. I love reading your blogs and seeing your photos, especially the close-ups of children and the ceremony of the reeds. I hope you can find the time to keep the writing going! Lots of love, Nana (8/2/09)
