Under the banner of the Assam State Electricity Supply Mazdoor Union, electricity employees submitted a memorandum to Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi through the Kamrup (Metro) deputy commissioner demanding immediate measures to solve the problem of power crisis on micro and macro level schemes.

The memorandum submitted to the chief minister said the ongoing projects to generate electricity should be vigorously pursued for their timely completion. The employees also suggested that new power generation projects should be taken up by the Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGCL), the entity successor to the Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) .
