Description
Power generation companies are likely default on their loan repayments owing to fuel shortages, especially coal.
A high-powered group of former power secretaries has been set up by power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to come up with a plan to mitigate these shortages and ensure high plant load factors (PLF) in thermal power projects.
Shinde chaired the first meeting of this advisory group earlier last month to find solutions to shortages in coal and gas apart from volatility in the global naphtha prices.
