Description
Pakistan is facing power shortages of approximately 4,000-4,500 MW and it is expected that this demand-supply gap will exceed 5,500 MW by the mid of 2011. The present electricity demand-supply gap, coupled with consistent growth in demand (6-7% per annum), clearly indicates the fundamental need for enhancing the country’s current power generation capability. To face the challenge there is need to explore cheapest and renewable energy resources that could positively impact in producing goods and products at competitive price to ensure survival of Industries in this era of competitiveness.
