Bolivia: YPFB asegura que incrementó el envasado de GLP, pero la escasez sigue en la ciudad
The distribution of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) continues to evolve with irregularity in Cochabamba, despite Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) producing higher volumes of domestic fuel to meet the unmet demand in some parts of the city.
Since last weekend, residents of some districts of North and South zones have been involved in demonstrations and even blockades of roads to demand the arrival of trucks carafes of LPG.

Power woes continued in the Capital for the fourth day, with several areas experiencing powercuts due to low frequency in the Northern Grid.
The power department officials, however, claimed that the situation was improving.
India: TPC's Simhadri project facing acute fuel shortage
State-run NTPC's 1,000 Mw thermal power project at Simhadri in Andhra Pradesh is facing huge coal shortage and is working with shoe-string reserves for just two days in comparison to the regular one month stock.
"For the last six-seven months we are running on two days coal stock... Our production has declined,"company source said.
Lack of coal has resulted in loss of electricity generation at Simhadri Thermal Power Project, which supplies power to the state, the source said, but declined to quantify the generation loss.
India: Power shortfall triggers long outages
Prolonged and regular power cuts led to a dismal Wednesday for many in the city. One of the biggest causes for shortfall of power was Delhi not getting its promised 400 MW power from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), leading to a crisis in the city.
According to the state government's power department, the maximum load was about 3,800 MW, but there was a shortage in generation as units in many plants were not functioning. Delhi's mid-afternoon local generation was only about 800 MW, forcing the government to overdraw heavily from the Northern Grid.
According to sources, a 210-MW unit of the Badarpur power station also tripped on Wednesday adding to existing problems.
Israel: IEC urges public to save energy to avoid power cuts
As the country endures yet another heat wave, the Israel Electric Corporation is calling on the public to minimize energy consumption in an effort to avoid the power outages that have plagued the country in recent years
"We are working at full capacity and electricity reserves are very low in light of increasing demand for power during summer days, which are forecasted to heat up over the next few days," the IEC said on Wednesday. "Any technical problem at one of our power stations is likely to cause power disruptions."
Pakistan: Power generation declines due to high cost of oil
MANY power sector experts attribute the alarming rise in outages to either incompetence of power authorities or a deliberate attempt by them to produce less electricity in view of high oil rates. They have a point as according to WAPDA?s own data, the total installed electricity generation capacity in the country, besides around 350 MW nuclear power plants, is 17,724 MW. The net production after accounting for operational or capacity loses is 16,008 MW.
Pakistan: Excessive loadshedding sparks protests across Peshawar
Protest rallies continued across this provincial metropolis Wednesday as the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) failed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to consumers on the third consecutive day.
The hours-long power shutdowns badly affected the daily life. The electricity breakdowns duration touched over 15 hours in different parts of the city and its suburbs. Complaints of power disruption were received from Hashtnagri, Sethi Town, Garhi Atta Mohammad, Garhi Qamardin, Kohat Road, Dilalazak Road, Saeedabad, Gulberg, Nothia, Lahori Gate, Karimpura and areas close to Ring Road.
Pakistan: The dark side
All localities of the city experienced this year’s worst spell of load shedding thus far on Wednesday, as electricity remained suspended in some areas for up to 10 hours.
Moreover, power of some localities was cut off for 10 consecutive hours on the second day of forced load shedding in the city.
The residents of Shadman, Gulberg, Garden Town and Township were affected the most, and they complained that electricity was suspended for much longer than the scheduled time. In a number of areas (mostly suburbs), electricity was suspended at around 4am, and restored at 2pm. “The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) suspended power to suburban localities to provide electricity to upscale areas,” a LESCO official said.
Pakistan: Countrywide protests as load shedding up by 4 hours
The ongoing power crisis in the country has intensified with 12 to 16 hours of power outages, invoking violent protests from consumers in various cities, Geo News reported on Wednesday.
The situation in Karachi turned worse when the Bin Qasim Power Plant’s unit-5 tripped due to a technical fault, increasing the load shedding, the channel reported. According to the Karachi Electric Supply Co-operation (KESC), the closure of the plant has led to the suspension of 220 megawatt (MW) of electricity to the city, which is now facing a power deficit of 1,000 MW. Power outages are affecting Karachi’s economy and daily life, according to the channel.
Peru: Restrictions on Peru's energy supply - Customers to be compensated for blackouts
Energy shortage is becoming a greater concern in Peru as the country demands more power supply than what poor infrastructures are able to provide.
With demand for electricity growing at a rate of 12 percent a year, power companies are looking for ways to control the increasing number of blackouts.
